1963 Gretsch 6122 "Country Gent"
This Country Gent was ordered by Lew Skinner of "The Du-Cats" in 1963. At first Gretsch told Lew they were not interested in making a lefty due to the backlog for this model in righty (this being right after George Harrison's appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show) but after 2 months of persistence on Lew's part, Duke Kramer made this one up. In keeping with Gretsch fashion, note the factory conversion of a righty body, fitted with a proper lefty neck with only one set of fret markers as opposed to the normal double markers for a lefty!
